Biography
The WALDECK Peterborough Phantoms are thrilled to announce that Louie Kynaston has signed a three year pro contract, keeping him in Phantoms colours until the 2026/27 season.
Louie came up through the junior system in Peterborough from U10’s up until U18’s then going on to play for Phantoms NIHL 2. Last season, Louie played 12 games with the Phantoms NIHL2 side, putting up 15 points from 4 goals and 11 assists. The 17-year-old made his senior debut in 2023 for the first team, and it didn’t take him long before he bagged himself his first senior goal in the NIHL.
Louie Kynaston commented: “I’m delighted and honoured to have signed at the Phantoms for another season. I was very fortunate and grateful for the trust and support from my coaches and teammates in my transition from junior to senior hockey. I’m looking forward to trying to build on last season, continue to grow my own game and push on from the success we had as a team last year.”
Head Coach Slava Koulikov commented: “Louie made huge progress in his first season with us. You could see his intelligence playing in the middle from day one. Every kid needs time, but it didn’t take Louie that long to settle down and start playing his game at this level.
Louie is a natural centre who reads the game well on and off the puck, and he will be very important in our roster when we gets fully up to speed with this level. I am looking forward to seeing how Louie progresses this season.”
