Biography
We are pleased to announce the return of Captain Rob McDonald, for the 24/25 season.
Rob has been a huge part of the team over the last 8 seasons after returning from Nottingham. This will be his 4th season captaining the team, since debuting in the 06/07 season.
Rob is currently 3rd in all time appearances, with 217 to his name. He currently sits 12th in all time points with 25 goals and 87 assists, showing his capabilities going forward alongside his great defensive play.
Calm on the puck with a great hockey IQ, Rob possesses unmatched leadership qualities and is the glue that holds the room together, we will lean on his experience as we continue developing the promising Peterborough Juniors that we have coming through.
Coach Pollard commented, ‘I’m thrilled Rob has made the decision to come back, I lean on him a lot during the season, he is a wise head who has experienced most situations, and as a Captain he really helps me get the best out of the players. I’m looking forward to working closely with him again this season.’
McDonald said, ‘It was an easy decision to make when I saw the team we are putting together this season. A lot of new, current and past teammates - a great mix of youth and experience. We have to be pushing for silverware this year - no excuses. I’m absolutely buzzing for the season to begin.’
