Biography
We are delighted to announce the signing of Leo Markey for the 24/25 season.
Leo is no stranger to Peterborough fans, icing in 43 games for the Senior Phantoms last season and collecting a playoff winners medal in that time. He has also played 28 games on a two way with us over the past 3 seasons with 13 goals and 10 assists in that time. At NIHL1 level he has featured for Romford 16 times with 12 points across that period. We are delighted to secure his services on a full time basis this season!
Leo has an eye for goal and is a tough opponent to play against with his gritty high energy style of play.
Pollard commented ‘Once Leo reached out to me it was a no brainer to sign him, our team ethos are built around developing players that have played in Peterborough and helping them continue to grow as players, Leo has a lot of natural ability and has the potential to get even better, he is only 19 and needs to be playing regularly to continue his growth as a player. His experience of playing minutes at higher levels will be crucial for us down the stretch.
Leo is delighted to join us again ‘Really happy to be coming back to Phantoms 2. I started playing senior hockey with most of the boys in the team so I know how good of a team it is to be a part of. I’ve seen the signings so far and the team Nathan is building and I’m excited for what’s to come this coming season, and hopefully to be lifting silverware at the end of it.’
