The WALDECK Peterborough Phantoms are delighted to announce that forward #24 Austin Mitchell-King has signed a contract extension with the club.
The 22-year-old forward joined Slava Koulikov’s team in 2022 and has since played 92 games putting up 32 goals and 41 assists. Austin quickly became a fan favourite and vital part of our team in the two seasons he has spent with the Phantoms, and we can’t wait to see what the 2024/25 season has in-store.
Head Coach Slava Koulikov had the following to say on Austins return : “Having Austin back for a third straight season is a huge boost for our team.
Austin is very mature for his age, at 22, he has already become a big part of our special teams and is one of my core players who can be trusted in all big situations.
Austin is a great two-way player who reads the game well both with and without the puck.He also has the ability to consistently deliver big goals and assists in important games.
His leadership, both on and off the ice, truly sets him apart. We’re fortunate to have such a dedicated and talented player in our line up."
Austin had the following to say on his re-signing “ This was a very easy decision for me to make, especially as the past two seasons have been thoroughly enjoyable. I’m looking forward to what next year will bring. See you next season Phantoms fans.”
