The WALDECK Peterborough Phantoms are thrilled to confirm the return of top goal scorer, Canadian forward Cam Hough, for the 2025/26 season!

The 24-year-old from Uxbridge, Ontario, played his junior hockey in his native Canada, and iced 74 times in the OHL for the Sarnia Sting and Kingston Frontenacs.

From Kingston, he then moved onto the Pembroke Lumber Kings and the Pictou County Crushers, before icing seven times for Ontario Tech University in the USports League.

He went on to play 33 times in the East Coast Hockey League for the Wheeling Nailers and Wichita Thunder, whilst also making a number of appearances for the Knoxville Ice Bears in the SPHL.

His first venture into Europe came in the 2023/24 season, when he scored 12 goals and 4 assists for French Second Division side Tours.

He signed on the dotted line in Peterborough ahead of the 2024/25 season and has been a roaring success. Cam formed a formidable connection with captain Luke Ferrara and Janne Laakkonen and ended the regular season on 54 goals in 52 games, making him the third top goalscorer in the NIHL National.

And ahead of the 2024/25 NIHL National Playoffs, we’re excited to confirm that Cam will be back in Phantoms colours next season!

Upon signing his extension, Cam said: “I’m incredibly excited to be back with the Phantoms for a second season. My first season here has been amazing & I have enjoyed every minute of it. I would like to thank the players, staff & fans for all making me feel welcome here in Peterborough throughout my first season. I’m looking forward not only for this year’s playoff run, but building on what we have here & chasing even greater success for the club next season!”

And Head Coach, Slava Koulikov, said the following on the re-signing of Hough: “Some people are just born to be leaders, and Cam is one of them. From the moment Cam stepped into our locker room last September, he set the standard with his work ethic, professionalism, and passion for the game.

His impact on and off the ice has been invaluable—not only does he contribute in big moments on the scoreboard, but he also lifts up his teammates, leads by example, and embodies the culture we want in this organization.

Cam dedication to the game is second to none, and having him back for another season is a huge boost for our club. We’re excited to see him continue to thrive and drive this team forward.” Slava concluded.

Welcome back, #29 Cam Hough, from all of us at the WALDECK Peterborough Phantoms!
