Phantoms School Assemblies

The Grass Roots Sports Project is an innovative project run as a partnership between the Peterborough Phantoms and BGL.

The project is designed to encourage young children to try a variety of different sports. This is encouraged via an engaging and interactive school assembly delivered in schools by members of the Peterborough Phantoms community team.

The project has teamed up with many of the Cities local prominent sports clubs, who as part of the project are offering free ‘try and see’ sessions for children to have a go at different sports and be encouraged to continue to participate and enjoy what the local clubs have to offer.

The BGL Grass Roots Sports assemblies show the children the fun that can be had, by participating in different sports that include Football, Cricket, Tennis, Rugby, Hockey, and Ice Hockey giving them the choice of which sport(s) to try.

The assemblies and the taster sessions are completely free of charge. The school assembly can be tailored to individual schools but generally, last for 20 minutes and include an interactive video and chance to interact with the Phantoms players who form the clubs, community team.
