PLAYERS TO LEAD A COLLECTION FOR PETERBOROUGH FOOD BANK

PLAYERS TO LEAD A COLLECTION FOR PETERBOROUGH FOOD BANK

Phantoms forward Will Weldon will be heading up a food bank collection to tackle food poverty in the local area along with the players from the Peterborough Phantoms.

With Christmas coming up, it is important to consider those who live in poverty and who are less fortunate than ourselves, and with that in mind, Weldon has taken the lead on making this food bank donation happen.

In 2018, 658,048 three-day emergency food parcels were given out across 2000 food banks in the UK. More families are relying on food banks than ever with a 50% increase in 2019. So, the players have come together to lead this collection and are asking fans to donate food towards the collection.

There will be a donation box in skate hire at our home games on the 15th December against Raiders and 21stDecember against the Bracknell Bees, and the food will be dropped off at the food bank on Christmas Eve.

The kinds of items we are looking for are:

  • Tinned/Jarred items
  • Long life milk
  • Tea & Coffee
  • Biscuits
  • Toilet Rolls
  • Cereal
  • Sugar
  • Part baked bread
  • Long life drinks
  • Crisps
  • Toothpaste
  • Pasta & Rice

Thank you in advance to everyone who makes a donation to this collection. Together we can help reduce the numbers of those living in poverty and without enough food, and we appreciate your help with the cause.
