PIRATES BOUNCE BACK TO SPLIT THE WEEKEND

PIRATES BOUNCE BACK TO SPLIT THE WEEKEND

Hull Pirates 4-2 Peterborough Phantoms

The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms fell to defeat on Sunday night, meaning the two sides split the points across the weekend’s double header.

Bobby Chamberlain scored the only goal of the opening period, taking assists from Jason Hewitt and David Norris to put the Pirates ahead at 10:41.

The second period was more end to end, but the Phantoms could have found themselves more than a goal down if it wasn’t for the heroics of goaltender, Jordan Marr.

The next goal came in the first minute of the third period, Chamberlain again putting his name on the scoresheet with a powerplay goal.

Tom Norton scored the Phantoms opening goal at 46:31, putting Slava Koulikov’s side within one goal, with plenty of time to play.

But the Pirates struck back just 42 seconds later, when Sam Towner notched his second goal of the weekend to reinstate the Pirates’ two goal lead.

Lee Bonner struck two minutes later, to seemingly put the game beyond doubt in the favour of the Pirates.

Ales Padelek pulled a goal back with 2:24 to play, but it wasn’t enough for the Phantoms who suffered defeat in their first competitive trip to Hull of the season.
