Peterborough Phantoms 4-0 Basingstoke Bison (Aggregate: Phantoms 6-2 Bison)

The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms won the Billy Glover Memorial Cup by beating the Basingstoke Bison on Sunday evening. Taylor Romeo, Glenn Billing, Tom Norton and Conor Pollard found the back of the net, whilst Jordan Marr kept a shut-out at the other end.

The Phantoms opened the scoring on 8:31, when Ross Clarke found Romeo out in front, and the Phantoms #73 made no mistake with the finish.

The Phantoms continued to try and build momentum despite a number of penalties for both sides, but the score remained 1-0 as the first period came to an end.

Billing added the second Phantoms goal with just over 12 minutes played in the middle period, taking an assist from Ales Padelek to score on the powerplay.

Romeo was then back in the thick of the action, dropping the gloves with Bison defenceman, Elliott Dewey.

Then, after George Norcliffe was ejected from the game for picking up his second 10-minute penalty of the evening, Norton jumped in on the attack to put the Phantoms three goals ahead with another powerplay marker.

As the second period neared its completion, Pollard completed the scoring with another Phantoms powerplay goal.

The scoring was over, but the action certainly wasn’t. Jarvis Hunt was hit poorly by Paul Petts, and Nathan and Conor Pollard both came to the aid of the 17-year-old forward, with N.Pollard comfortably winning his fight against the Bison man.

With just under a minute left in the game, Hallam Wilson dropped the gloves on Phantoms defenceman, Nathan Long. Long didn’t drop his gloves, but did get the takedown.

With the score at 4-0 on the night, Phantoms claimed the Billy Glover Memorial Cup 6-2 on aggregate!
