PHANTOMS TO HONOUR A LEGEND OF PETERBOROUGH HOCKEY

The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms are saddened to hear of the passing of a legend of hockey in Peterborough, Dick Britton.

Dick kept the Pirates afloat in a time where the future of the club looked untenable. He worked tirelessly and gave his time, efforts and money to ensure the safety of the club and hockey would not still be here if it wasn’t for him.

The Britton family name is an extremely famous one in Peterborough hockey, thanks to Dick, Val and their son, Craig. Craig Britton first played for the Pirates, and also played for the Phantoms and the Islanders during his career.

Prior to Sunday’s face off against the Bracknell Bees, the Phantoms will be holding a minute silence in memory of Dick Britton.

Our thoughts are with Craig and his family at this difficult time.
