After beating the Hull Pirates 12-8 over two legs, the Peterborough DALROD Phantoms will contest the National Cup Final against the Telford Tigers.
The tie got off to the best possible start for the Phantoms as Corey McEwen netted a hat-trick in a 4-2 win over the Pirates on Humberside.
An 8-6 win on home ice saw the Phantoms book their spot in the final. Petr Stepanek picked up a hat-trick, whilst Ales Padelek and McEwen both collected a brace.
It was a high scoring affair in Swindon in the first leg between the Wildcats and the Tigers. Toms Rutkis netted twice as the Cats ran out 7-4 winners, taking a three-goal lead into the away leg.
But the Tigers pulled off a remarkable comeback in the second leg, sending the game into overtime. Jack Watkins’ goal at 51:10 saw the Tigers win 6-3 in regulation, before Brandon Whistle netted the only goal of the shootout to book Telford’s spot in the final.
The dates and information regarding the National Cup Final will be announced in due course.
