PHANTOMS KICK OFF THE WEEKEND WITH A WIN

Bracknell Bees 2–3 Peterborough Phantoms

The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms kicked off their weekend with a victory over the Bracknell Bees.

Ryan Bainborough was the busier of the two goalies in the opening exchanges but did well to keep the Bees at bay.

Glenn Billing gave the Phantoms the lead with a powerplay goal, taking an Ales Padelek assist to calmly slot past Adam Goss in the Bees net.

The Bees equalised with 28:25 on the clock, Aidan Doughty tapped in a rebound on the doorstep to level the scores.

Robin Kovar went close for the Bees with a slapshot from the left wing on the powerplay, but Bainborough did well to tip it over the glass.

And Billing put the Phantoms back ahead with 1:40 to play in the middle period, firing past Goss and into the net.

Robin Kovar struck a well worked powerplay goal to level the scores with 51:49 on the clock. He took a back-door pass from Joe Baird and fired an unstoppable shot past Bainborough.

But Petr Stepanek won the game for the Phantoms with 3:29 to play in the game. He found space in the zone and unleashed a rocket into the top corner.
