The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms are working hard to deliver our ground-breaking Grass Roots Sports Project, in partnership with BGL Group.
This project sees the Phantoms deliver assemblies to schools across Peterborough about the value and benefits of participation in sport. The project has been running since the start of the new school year in September and we have visited numerous schools throughout the Autumn Term.
The project is being headed up by the Phantoms players and Community Co-Ordinators, in partnership with local employer BGL Group.
“We are engaging pupils in all schools and getting them excited and enthusiastic about the chance to try different sports. We are helping the children understand the many reasons why participating in sports is fun, rewarding and beneficial to them in various different ways. We give pupils the opportunity to try taster sessions in many different kinds of sports across our city through our links with many of the established sports clubs in the city. The aim of the project is to encourage as many young people as possible to get involved, try different sports and hopefully from there continue their enjoyment and participation in local sport. We think the BGL Grass Roots Sports Project can make a really positive impact on the young people in the Peterborough area and I’m really looking forward to seeing the impact we can make.” Community Co-Ordinator, Corey McEwen, said.
If you would like to book a fun and interactive assembly with the Phantoms, then please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We’d like to thank BGL Group for their support in making this project happen and we look forward to working with them in order to make the project a success.
