The Peterborough Phantoms returned to winning ways with a solid showing against the Raiders on Sunday night.
Former Phantom Erik Piatak put the Raiders ahead with 5 minutes played, prodding home a rebound after Jake Sylvester’s initial shot was saved by Jordan Marr.
It took the Phantoms just 42 seconds to get level after Glenn Billing tipped a Callum Buglass blue line effort into the back of the net.
The Raiders went back in front in the first minute of the second period, as Piatak this time found Sylvester to score on the power play for the home side.
Will Weldon got the Phantoms on level terms with 23:08 played after skating out from behind the goal and finding a gap to score in from an almost impossible angle.
And after conceding in the first minute of the period, Phantoms scored in the last to get themselves ahead for the first time in the game. Morgan Clarke-Pizzo notched his second in as many days with a smart finish on the power play after good work from Corey McEwen and Luc Johnson.
The third period was a battle for the Phantoms as Ales Padelek, Jarvis Hunt, Luc Johnson and Morgan Clarke-Pizzo all spent time in the penalty box, but a strong showing from Marr and his defence gave the Phantoms a chance at the points.
And those points were sealed by Billing, who collected his second of the night after good work from Padelek.
Next weekend the Phantoms travel to Swindon to take on the Wildcats, before the Telford Tigers visit Planet Ice Peterborough next Sunday.
