MATCH REPORT | PHANTOMS SEAL FOUR POINT WEEKEND WITH VICTORY OVER THE BISON

Peterborough Phantoms 3-1 Basingstoke Bison

The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms completed a four-point weekend with another win over the Basingstoke Bison.

It didn’t start well for the Phantoms who went behind after Paul Petts scrambled the puck beyond Jordan Marr.

Phantoms grew frustrated as the first period ended and the second began, with numerous chances either narrowly missing the net or being saved by Alex Mettam.

But the leveller did eventually come at 31:53 after Petr Stepanek rifled the puck home from the blue line on the powerplay.

And it took the Phantoms just over three and a half minutes of the third period to hit the front. James Ferrara played a fantastic pass to Stepanek and he ripped the puck into the top corner.

And the victory was confirmed in the last minute through Glenn Billing with Stepanek this time the provider. The big #40 picked his time to slide the pass across to Billing and he finished from close range.

The result ensured a four-point weekend and also means the Phantoms go into Friday’s cup semi-final second leg in very good form!
