MATCH REPORT | PHANTOMS MAKE IT ELEVEN IN A ROW WITH DRAMATIC OVERTIME WIN

Peterborough Phantoms 4-3 Swindon Wildcats (After OT)

Martins Susters’ dramatic overtime winner extended the Phantoms’ win streak to eleven games.

Tyler VanKleef gave Swindon the lead with a cannon of a slapshot from the blue line on the powerplay.

But that got the Phantoms going and they responded seven minutes later through Tom Norton after a flowing move saw the Phantoms defenceman ghost in at the back post to strike beyond Renny Marr.

Ales Padelek added a goal of the game contender seconds later after gaining the zone and unleashing an unstoppable shot into the top corner.

And Norton made it 3-1 with 2:14 to play in the opening period. Ales Padelek set up the #2 and Norton hit his slap shot into the bottom corner.

Eddie Bebris reduced the advantage to one with the only goal of the second period.

In the final minutes of the second period, Floyd Taylor was given a 5+game penalty for high sticking on Corey McEwen, but the Phantoms failed to capitalise on the chance.

Toms Rutkis levelled the scores in the dying moments after finally breaking down the Phantoms resolute defence.

Phantoms began overtime on the powerplay but again failed to capitalise. But Martins Susters struck seconds after the man advantage ended to send the Phantoms fans home happy!
