The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms are pleased to announce that Gareth O’Flaherty has penned a contract with the club until the end of the season.
O’Flaherty began the season with the Bracknell Bees, but departed the club after 11 games due to work commitments. Slava Koulikov acted fast and initially brought Flatsy in on a short-term contract, whilst he was missing a number of his key players.
O’Flaherty has played eight times for the Phantoms so far, scoring once and assisting a further four goals. He’s featured on both the powerplay and penalty kill and become an important part of the Phantoms team.
We can now confirm he will remain with the club until the end of the 2019/20 season.
O’Flaherty was delighted to put pen to paper and said: “I’m extremely happy to be joining the Phantoms for the remainder of the season. The past four weeks have been a lot of fun and the boys have been really welcoming. It’s been good to learn the systems and contribute during some big games. I’m looking forward to continuing helping the team and hopefully winning some silverware!”
Head Coach Slava Koulikov was also pleased to see the 29-year-old forward sign on for the rest of the year: “Gareth came in to cover Welds. We had some really good results against some really good teams, and he did well. So, we had a chat to see if both parties wanted to continue in this way. We spoke about the role he’ll play in the team and where we see him being beneficial for the team. He said he’d be happy to take that role on and we’re happy he’s going to be with us until the end of the year!”
Gareth’s home, away and orange own and loan jerseys are now available at £150 each. Please contact email@example.com if you’d like to purchase one of Flatsy’s jerseys.
Welcome to the Phantoms on a permanent basis, Gareth O’Flaherty!
