Covid Update

We are committed to making sure you have a safe and pleasant experience when attending Ice Hockey games in Peterborough.  Following the government briefing on Wednesday night (8th December 2021) we would like to outline the changes that will come into effect from Friday 10th December.

From the 10th December you will need to wear a mask at all times when you are in the rink, unless you are eating or drinking, or you are exempt.
Government guidance that “From 10 December, face coverings will be required by law in indoor sports stadiums.”

Where someone is exempt from wearing a mask, we will not require any proof of that exemption
Government guidance is that “If you have an age, health or disability reason for not wearing a face covering: you do not routinely need to show any written evidence of this you do not need to show an exemption card”

We do not currently require Covid passports or negative lateral flow tests for entry to the rink
Government guidance is that these are only required for (this is not the full list): indoor events with 500 or more unseated attendees any events with 10,000 or more attendees indoor or outdoor, such as large sports and music events
Our standing limit is 100 therefore neither of these rules apply

All our Matchnight staff and volunteers including Phanforce, off ice and Planet Ice staff will wear a mask.
Phantoms Coaching staff will wear a mask when not on the bench, and not during the game in the locker room.

Government guidance is that “Face coverings must be worn by staff working in those settings where the public are required to wear face coverings and where staff come into direct contact with the public.”

Players will wear masks at all times in the arena except when they are on the ice playing, are warming up (on or off ice) or are in the locker room preparing for or recovering from play.
Government guidance is that “it is not recommended that you wear a face covering while exercising or during strenuous physical activity”

We hope this gives clarity as to what you need to do, what to expect and the reasons for these requirements.
