The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms are pleased to announce the re-signing of 27-year-old forward, Conor Pollard, for the 2020/21 season.
C. Pollard came through the junior system in Peterborough before making his senior Phantoms debut in the 2010/11 season. He went on to make 25 appearances that season, before moving on to play for the Wightlink Raiders the following year.
His time for the following couple of years was split between Phantoms and Wightlink, before he iced 5 games for the MK Thunder in 2013/14. That season, he returned to Peterborough with the Islanders (Phantoms 2) and has continued to play his hockey in the city ever since.
His final season with Phantoms 2 saw him score 32 goals and add 26 assists for 58 points in 28 games – totals which earned him a spot on Slava Koulikov’s Phantoms 1 roster for last season.
He had an impressive first year back in the Phantoms fold, picking up six goals and 14 assists for 20 points in 42 games. Many of his goals came at crucial times in match ups against Swindon or Hull.
And now he returns for another season as a Phantom, a season he is clearly looking forward to: “I’m super excited to be back for another season with the Phantoms. Speaking to Slava over the past few weeks and his plans for the upcoming season made it an easy choice for me to come back , we have such a tight nit group that makes it so easy to get along with everyone, also to play in front of the best fans in the league makes it that much better. I’m already counting down the days till we can get the season underway!” Conor said.
Coach Koulikov said the following about the return of C. Pollard:
“I was happy with Conor’s transition from Phantoms 2 to Phantoms 1 last year; he took it really seriously, prepared well in the summer and his progression throughout the season was clear to see. He’s a player who thrives on scoring goals, but he understood it wouldn’t be as easy as it was for Phantoms 2, but he came up with some big goals for us especially in the second half of the year. His hockey IQ has improved a lot and shows again how seriously and professional he is.”
“I’m very pleased to have another local player to sign back and it creates a good competition for places. We have young guys who improve every year and I believe Conor’s full second year with us will be good for us and him, and he’ll play a big part in our line up – welcome back Conor!” Slava concluded.
