The Peterborough DALROD Phantoms are thrilled to announce the return of Welsh defenceman, Callum Buglass, on a two year contract!
Buglass joined the Phantoms ahead of the 2018/19 season after a year with the Cardiff Fire. He became an instant hit with the Phantoms fans with his consistently solid performances on the blue line.
He brought plenty of experience to the Phantoms side despite his young age, having iced for two full seasons for the Swindon Wildcats in the EPL and also made his Elite League debut for the Cardiff Devils in the 2016/17 season.
He also represented Great Britain at both under 18 and under 20 levels. His first season with the Phantoms was a good one for Buglass and he added to his points total in his second season with the club, which saw the Phantoms pick up three trophies.
His development has continued into the 2019/20 season and he has more than doubled his total points total from the previous year. He’s got over 20 points from the blue line and has been an invaluable part of the Phantoms defence.
Buglass was clearly pleased to sign on the dotted line for another two years in Peterborough. He said: “I’m very happy to be back in Peterborough for the next two years. The group of guys we have here is amazing and it’s such a good team to be a part of. I love being able to compete for every trophy possible in the two years I’ve been here and with the hard work we all put in, hopefully that will continue. Also, a huge thanks to the fans who have been great since I got here!”
And Head Coach, Slava Koulikov, was equally delighted to seal Buglass’ return to the team for another year. Slava said: “Callum is a huge asset to the team. He’s proved to be one of the best British defenceman in the league, he’s been a fantastic player on the ice in the time he’s been here. He’s an amazing, team first guy, who always thinks about what he needs to do for the team on and off the ice. I haven’t got a bad word to say, he’s a great person. He’s a coach’s dream, he learns from everything in games and practice. If you look at his game, he’s scored the big goals: against Telford in the cup final, against MK in OT, against Hull in Coventry… He’s a pleasure to work with it was a no brainer to try and re-sign him. The fans love him, he does everything with a smile on his face. He works with the juniors on and off the ice to try and help them. He’s the kind of player I wish I could clone and have three or four of! I’m so happy he’s signed and look forward to working with him for the foreseeable future!”
Welcome back to Phantoms, Callum Buglass!
